A babysitting emergency
The drive to work felt longer than usual for Emma. Unfamiliar unease clung to her as she mulled over the situation. She had entrusted her precious daughter to the care of someone she barely knew.
Sarah, was essentially a stranger. Emma had exchanged a few words with her during her regular visits to the local café, but beyond that, she knew little about her.
Emma’s mind kept going back to Lily, who was at home alone with Sarah, while she tried to get through the traffic. She couldn’t help but second-guess her choice. But she knew in her heart that there had been no other option for today.
