Well, the zoo owner was pretty clear about one thing: he wasn’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for the Golden Retriever. And since the dog didn’t have a human to call its own, the writing was on the wall – it was probably headed for a shelter, crossing its paws for a shot at adoption.
One of the hikers, a guy named Mark, couldn’t stomach the thought of that ending for the dog, not after all it had done for those tiger cubs.
